Terms of use

Effective 5 November 2026.

Using KanduMap

KanduMap is free. You may install it and use it on your own devices, at no cost, for any lawful purpose. By using the app you accept these terms.

Not an official chart

KanduMap is not an official nautical chart and is not intended for navigation. Its chart is drawn from satellite images and open data and has no surveyed depths. Reefs, shoals and other hazards can be missing or in the wrong place, and clear water on the chart does not mean safe water. Smart routes only avoid hazards the chart shows. FAD positions can be out of date. GPS positions can be wrong.

You are responsible for the safe navigation of your vessel. Keep a proper lookout at all times, and use official charts, local knowledge and good seamanship.

No warranty

KanduMap and its data are provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and completeness.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, KanduMap and its makers are not liable for any loss, injury or damage, direct or indirect, arising from the use of the app or its data, or from being unable to use them.

Data sources

The chart contains data from other providers under their own licences, credited on the home page and in the app under "About this chart". Those providers make no warranty for their data either.

App stores

If you download KanduMap from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If you download it from Google Play, Google Play's terms also apply.

Changes

These terms may be updated. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date.
