Privacy policy
KanduMap collects no personal data.
It works offline, and your location never leaves your phone.
Effective 5 November 2026. This policy covers the KanduMap app for iPhone and Android.
What the app uses
- Your location
- With your permission, KanduMap reads your phone's location while the app is open. It uses it to show your position, speed and course on the chart, and to plan routes from where you are. Your location is used on the phone only. It is not sent anywhere, not shared with anyone, and not recorded. You can turn location access off at any time in your phone's settings; the chart still works without it.
- Your settings
- Your choices of appearance (light, dark or automatic), whether FADs are shown, course up, and the screen lock are saved on your phone, along with the fact that you have read the safety notice, so they are there the next time you open the app. They never leave the phone. Deleting the app deletes them.
What the app does not do
- It has no accounts and asks for no sign-in, name, email or phone number.
- It makes no network connections. The chart, island names, FAD positions and routes are all inside the app.
- It contains no analytics, crash reporting, advertising or tracking, and no third-party code that collects data.
- It does not sell, share or transfer any data, because it collects none.
App stores
You download and update KanduMap through Apple's App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google may collect information about downloads under their own privacy policies, which KanduMap does not control.
Children
KanduMap collects no data from anyone, including children.
